Dr. Bernadette Nambi Karuhanga is a Doctor of Business Administration from Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (South Africa). She holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) specializing in Economic Policy and Corporate Strategy from Maastricht School of Management (Netherlands), a Bachelor of Education Degree (BED) of Makerere University, specializing in Business Studies. She also holds a Diploma in Education (Business Studies), from the then Institute of Teacher Education Kyambogo, an Executive Diploma in Procurement – NEVI A (Netherlands) and an Executive Diploma in Organisational Culture and Change Management of Maastricht School of Management in conjunction with Stellenbosch Business School of South Africa. She has undertaken short term trainings in Scholarly Writing and Communication Skills, Research Methodology, Leadership and trainings on IFRS, Taxation and Auditing offered by the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. She is a member of the Association of MBAs (AMBA) and a member of the Academy of Management (AoM). Dr. Karuhanga is a researcher and has published in a number of international Journals in the areas of Strategic Performance Management, Higher Education, Procurement and Public Finance.   
Dr. B. N Karuhanga has a leadership experience of more than 19 years in various academic institutions including heading the Departments of Finance & Information Technology and Procurement & Logistics Management of Kyambogo University and Accounting & Finance (College of Business and Management Sciences) of Makerere University. 

As Deputy Director, Dr. B. N. Karuhanga is the overall head of academics at NCDC. She is responsible for among others; coordinating the production and implementation of the Centre’s strategic plan, assisting the Director in the day to day administration of the Centre, coordinating departmental activities and ensuring effective management of departmental estimates for academic activities, preparing annual reports on the Centre’s academic activities, ensuring adherence to the project documents of the authorized projects under the Centre, acting as chairperson of the Academic Departmental Heads committee and performing the functions of the Director where she is absent.
