The Secondary Department
Secondary Education aims at linking the learner with what has been provided at the Primary level, while preparing him/her for further education. Through the various subjects, education at this level alms at among others:
- Instilling and promoting national unity
- Imparting and promoting ethical spiritual values
- Instilling positive attitudes towards productive work.
- Developing basic scientific, technological and commercial skills
Currently, these are the subjects on the Secondary Education Curriculum: English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geography, History. For the value and skills based subjects, which include:
literature In English, Religious Education, Music, Art, Agriculture, Technical Drawing, Wood work, Metal work, Business Education, Home Economics, Clothing and Textiles, Food and Nutrition. Schools are given opportunity to identify subjects that they can handle In terms of human resources, Infrastructure and instructional materials. The secondary curriculum is planing a reform. You will soon realise major changes in these subjects. |
